> Puppeteer API shim for other browsers using WebdriverIO
Want to use Puppeteer, but you need to work with other browsers? Maybe you're
writing integration tests and you need to make sure stuff works in IE11 or you
just want to make sure things look right in Firefox?Since the Puppeteer API is built on an open protocol, hopefully someday you
will be able to use it with all of the browsers. But for now Shimiteer can help
you out.Shimiteer implements the same API at Puppeteer (as least as closely as it can)
so that you can use it today.## Install
```sh
yarn add shimiteer
```## Usage
Instead of importing `puppeteer`, you can import `shimiteer`, and for the most
part you will be able to use it as a drop-in replacement.**Before:**
```js
const puppeteer = require('puppeteer');puppeteer.launch().then(async browser => {
const page = await browser.newPage();
await page.goto('https://www.google.com');
// other actions...
await browser.close();
});
```**After:**
```js
const shimiteer = require('shimiteer');shimiteer.launch().then(async browser => {
const page = await browser.newPage();
await page.goto('https://www.google.com');
// other actions...
await browser.close();
});
```Using [WebdriverIO](http://webdriver.io/) we attempt to implement as much of
the puppeteer API as possible. There will be some things missing, but for many
use cases it should be good enough.
