# Jamhuri Day Historical Website

This is a [Next.js](https://nextjs.org/) historical website project aims to provide an in-depth exploration of the history of Kenya, spanning from precolonial times to the present, with a focus on the significance and evolution of Jamhuri Day. Jamhuri Day, celebrated on December 12th, marks the day Kenya attained independence in 1963.
## Features
- Comprehensive exploration of Kenya's history, including precolonial, colonial, and post-independence eras.
- Detailed information about precolonial Kenyan societies, their cultures, traditions, and socio-economic structures.
- Insights into the impact of colonialism on Kenyan communities and the struggle for independence.
- Examination of the significance and evolution of Jamhuri Day celebrations over time.

### Clone this repository
```bash

$ cd jamhuriday
$ npm install

## Getting StartedFirst, run the development server:
```bash
next start
```Open [http://localhost:3000](http://localhost:3000) with your browser to see the result.
You can start editing the page by modifying `app/page.js`. The page auto-updates as you edit the file.
This project uses [`next/font`](https://nextjs.org/docs/basic-features/font-optimization) to automatically optimize and load Inter, a custom Google Font.
