# Discord Bot: Magic Mussel
## Requirements
- Mac, Windows or Linux system
- Discord Server
- Node.js installed (https://nodejs.org/en/)
- (Optional: Node.js Server)## Getting started
1. create a new app on https://discord.com/developers/applications
2. click on Bot and then on "Add Bot" and copy the Client Secret to yourself
3. activate the SCholder for MESSAGE CONTENT INTENT on the bot page
4. click on 0Auth2 and select "bot" for OAuth2 URL Generator and "Administrator" for Permissions
5. now open the link between the checkboxes
6. you will be asked to add the bot to your Discord server
7. copy this folder
8. go back and copy the client secret from the bot page
9. create an .env with DISCORD_BOT_TOKEN=%YOUR_CLIENT_SECRET% from the page
10. create an .env with DISCORD_SERVER_ID=%YOUR_SERVER_ID% from the Discord server
11. execute `npm install`
12. start the bot with `npm run start`.Important: If you run this locally on your computer, the bot will only work as long as your computer is running. Alternatively, you must run this bot on an external server.
