# swapir
The {swapir} package is a tidy API wrapper for the SimilarWeb API. With {swapir}, you can retrieve web analytics metrics from a given site such as number of visits, visit duration, visitor demographic info, and more.
## Installation
You can install the swapir package from GitHub with:
```{r}
remotes::install_github("kcuilla/swapir")
library(swapir)
```## Examples
In order to use the API, you first must have an account and subscription to use [SimilarWeb](https://www.similarweb.com/). If you already have a subscription, you'll need to find your API key in the Account section under [API Management](https://account.similarweb.com/#/api-management2). Once you have your API key, you'll need to assign it to a variable called similarweb_api_key as shown below:
```{r}
similarweb_api_key = "xxxxx" # replace xxxxx with your API key
