## Sharity
Sharity is a web application aimed at reducing food waste and combating hunger by facilitating the redistribution of surplus food from events, parties, and colleges to those in need. Built with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, Sharity provides a platform for individuals and businesses to connect and contribute to a meaningful cause.

Sharity offers a user-friendly interface for food donors to easily share excess food by filling a form and for recipients to receive nourishment with dignity. By harnessing the power of technology, Sharity aims to foster collaboration and empathy to create a world where no one goes hungry.

## About Hackmol 5.0 - Hackathon 🚀
HackMol 5.0 is fifth-edition of community-focused 30-hour hackathon organized by DSC NIT Jalandhar. The participants must develop an idea and submit the PPT on the Devfolio Platform. The selected student would be invited to join Round 2 taking Place offline at NIT Jalandhar.
From over 4000+ participants across the country, our team "COSMIC" was among the top 50 teams selected for Round 2 after presenting our idea "Sharity" in the initial online submission Round 1.
**Although we didn't make it to the top 3, we learned a lot!**
- Work distribution: Shared tasks well among us.
- Team building: Became a stronger team together.
- Product pitching: Got better at explaining our idea.

## How to Run ⚙
1. **Clone the Repository:**
```bash
$ git clone https://github.com/Kishore-SR/Sharity-Hackmol5.git
2. **Install Dependencies:**
Ensure you have Flask and SQL Lite installed.
```bash
$ pip install flask
$ pip install sqlite3
3. **Navigate to Project Directory:**
```bash
$ cd Sharity-Hackmol5
4. **Run the Application:**
```bash
$ python app.py
5. **Access the Website:**
Once the application is running, open your web browser and go to [http://localhost:5000/](http://localhost:5000/).
