# Browser Extension Installation Guide

Welcome to the Browser Extension! This guide will help you install the extension in your Chrome browser by either cloning the repository or downloading the zip file.

### Method 1: Cloning the Repository

1. **Clone the Repository:**
- Open your terminal or command prompt.
- Run the command: `git clone https://github.com/M-YasirGhaffar/x.com-ad-blocker-browser-extension.git`

2. **Navigate to the Directory:**
- Change into the directory of the cloned repository by running the command: `cd x.com-ad-blocker-browser-extension`

### Method 2: Downloading the Zip File

1. **Download the Zip File:**
- Go to the GitHub repository page.
- Click the "Code" button, then click "Download ZIP".

2. **Extract the Zip File:**
- After the download is complete, extract the zip file to a directory of your choice.

### Installing the Extension in Chrome

1. **Open Chrome Extensions Page:**
- Open your Chrome browser and navigate to the Extensions page by entering `chrome://extensions/` in the address bar.
- Alternatively, click the three dots in the top right corner of Chrome, go to "More tools," and then click "Extensions."

2. **Enable Developer Mode:**
- On the Extensions page, toggle the "Developer mode" switch in the top right corner.

3. **Load the Extension:**
- Click the "Load unpacked" button that appears. This will open a file dialog.

4. **Select the Extension Directory:**
- If you cloned the repository (Method 1), navigate to the directory where you cloned it.
- If you downloaded the zip file (Method 2), navigate to the directory where you extracted it.
- Select the folder that contains the extension files (it should include the `manifest.json` file).

5. **Complete the Installation:**
- The extension should now appear in your list of installed extensions.

### Troubleshooting

- Make sure you have enabled "Developer mode" in the Chrome Extensions page.
- Ensure you selected the correct folder that contains the `manifest.json` file when loading the unpacked extension.
