## Installation

### System Requirements

1. Install the latest version of [Node.js v20.13.1+](https://nodejs.org/en/download/).

### Setup

`/` will always refer to the repo's root directory

1. Clone the repo  

   `git clone https://github.com/NASA-PDS/atlas`

1. From within `/` (If deploying code, be sure to use `npm ci` to produce deterministic builds)

   `npm install`

1. Copy `/sample.env` to `.env`  

   `cp sample.env .env`

1. Run `npm run build` to bundle up the code (first time or if there are any changes)

   1. Run `npm run start:prod` for production

   1. cd `/Documentation`, `npm install`, `npm run build` to build the /documentation (served through Atlas server)

1. Or run `npm run start` for development
