# Pityriasis Versicolor

A personal website dedicated to understanding, treating, and living with Pityriasis Versicolor — a common fungal skin condition caused by Malassezia yeast.

**Live site:** [nicofilips.github.io/PityriasisVersicolor](https://nicofilips.github.io/PityriasisVersicolor/)

## About

After 8 years of dealing with this condition, I've accumulated a lot of knowledge — from dermatologist visits and scientific studies to personal experiments and community insights. This site is my way of sharing that knowledge with others who are going through the same thing.

**I am not a medical professional.** This website reflects personal experiences and research. Always consult a dermatologist for diagnosis and treatment.

## What's on the site

- **My Story** — Personal journey with PV over 8 years
- **Understanding PV** — How the disease works, causes, and triggers
- **Treatments** — Antifungals, supplements, diet, and what actually helps
- **Research & Studies** — Topics I'm actively investigating
- **Gut-Skin Axis** — The connection between gut health and skin conditions
- **Is it really PV?** — Misdiagnosis guide with conditions that look similar, including a PMH vs. PV comparison

## Tech stack

## Knowledge base

The `/knowledge/` folder contains my personal notes — things I've tried, studies I've found, questions I'm investigating. These are not rendered on the website but serve as the source material for building out content.

## Get in touch

If you're dealing with PV and want to exchange experiences or tips, you can find my contact details on the website.
