> Quick! Do you know how your system is doing *right now*? Are you confident you’d know about a reliability or performance issue before your customer? 

> The cloud and DevOps movements have introduced a plethora of tools and techniques to help teams answer these questions and increase confidence that their system is working as expected. Unfortunately, the landscape of these tools and techniques is large, difficult to navigate and confusing.

> In this session, we’ll untangle that landscape and look at some pragmatic principles that can be used to establish monitoring that’s effective and geared towards developers and their unique needs.
