README

* Summary

This launcher was written in order to make game exhibition at school festival
more gourgeous and decrease NPCA members' labor.

Below are the main functions:
- Supports addition of games.
- Records the statistics how many times each game is launched.

* Requirements

- Screen resolution: 1440x900
- Java SE Runtime 5

* Build

You can build and run the launcher just typing following command
in the top directory.
$ ant
Successfully built, the Launcher will be invoked automatically.

* Setup

When the launcher started, it scans /data/ directory first. data must have
following structure:

: data/
: game1/
: run.bat
: thumb.jpg
: something-relates-to-game-1
: ...
: game2/
: run.bat
: thumb.jpg
: something-relates-to-game-2
: ...
: game3/
: run.bat
: thumb.jpg
: something-relates-to-game-3
: ...

The directory name will be its game's title.
All thumb.jpg's size must be 400x300.
Also, the launcher execute 'run.bat' to run that game. You must write
commands which launch the game with *absolute path* on the file run.bat.
Other files in each directory are just ignored. So you can place the body of
the game in each directory.
*Do not place something but accepted formed directories beneath data*.

* Hacking

This section describes the structure of the launcher.

** Directory Structure

The necessary files to launch the launcher are just Launcher.jar and data
directory. You can remove those other files and directories once you have
built the launcher.

- README.org
This file.

- build.xml
The specification for ant.

- src/
This contains the all sources.

- MANIFEST
A file to make a jar.

- data/
This directory contains games. See /Setup/ section.

- Launcher.jar
The body of the launcher. This file will be created after build.

- build/
This directory will be created after build. Files under this are used only
to create the launcher.jar, so you can safely delete this directory if you
want.

** Ant

Ant is used as a MAKE system. Some options are defined beforehand.
- Build only
$ ant build
- Cleaning
$ ant clean
- Make a jar
$ ant jar
- Run
$ ant run

* Misc

The Launcher outputs the statistics of how many times each game was launched
and how long it was played in an encoding Shift-JIS, so you may better use
'iconv' to convert the encodings.
