## 👨‍💻 About Me

I am Salvador Villalon, a Software Engineer from Calexico, CA 🔥. 

## 🔭 Currently Working On

Software Engineer at [Accenture](https://www.accenture.com/us-en) since 2021. 

Also a part-time Full Stack Development Instructor at [Fullstack Academy](https://www.fullstackacademy.com/) where I teach a cohort of 20 students how to become Software Engineers.

### Awards

- Received the National Medium Chapter of the Year Award 2019 (competed against 245+ chapters across the US) from the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE). [Link to the article](https://engineering.uci.edu/news/2019/11/uci-chapter-hispanic-engineers-earns-national-recognition). Every SHPE chapter across the United States competes for this award, and out of all of the chapters SHPE-UCI won. This was the first time in SHPE-UCI history that we win this award.

- Created a JavaScript solution to the [GitHub Issue](https://github.com/code-dot-org/piskel/pull/49) labeled as complex that the founder of Piskel issued. As a result, 67M K-12 Code.org students in all 50 US states can use [Piskel](https://github.com/piskelapp/piskel) in their preferred language
