# Libraries and Artificial Intelligence
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a broad term, covering a vast area of subfields
(cf. [Difference between AI and
ML](https://ai.stackexchange.com/questions/35/what-is-the-difference-between-artificial-intelligence-and-machine-learning)).
This repository tries to collect various tools, applications, publications and
other resources related to AI and relevant in a wide sense for libraries --
with a focus on scientific libraries (in 2023/24 there were

university libraries in Germany)
## Categories
There are a few main categories for use of AI in libraries:
> * KI zur internen Arbeitsunterstützung
> * KI als Unterstützung der Bibliotheksnutzenden und
> * Vermittlung von KI-Kompetenzen (KI Literacy) -- [STRATEGISCHE AUSEINANDERSETZUNG MIT KI AN UND ZWISCHEN UNIVERSITÄTSBIBLIOTHEKEN IN DEUTSCHLAND](https://edoc.hu-berlin.de/server/api/core/bitstreams/41c31a7a-765c-46fe-86f8-6e5383d3349b/content#page=17) (2025)
