## Bio
[Uche Ogbuji](http://uche.ogbuji.net/) was born in Calabar, Nigeria, and lived in Egypt, England and elsewhere before settling near Boulder, Colorado with his wife and four children. He is an Electronic Engineer by education, having started his courses in Nigeria before transferring and graduating in the US. Uche is an expert in data architecture and distributed systems, having played a pioneering role in establishing technologies such as XML, RDF and Web services. In the process he led several open source projects and published hundreds of technical articles in industry journals such as IBM developerWorks, Application Development Trends & XML.com).
Uche is also a poet, spoken word performer and DJ. A 2022 Boulder County Arts Fellow for Literature and Music, his chapbook, [*Ndewo, Colorado* (Aldrich Press, USA, 2013)](https://uche.ogbuji.net/ndewo), is a [Colorado Book Award Winner](https://www.denverpost.com/2014/06/16/colorado-book-awards-honor-authors-in-16-categories/). His book [*Ńchéfù Road* (Black Spring Press Group, UK, 2022)](https://uche.ogbuji.net/nchefu/)[won the Christopher Smart Prize](https://store.eyewearpublishing.com/blogs/news/mel-pryors-judging-report-for-the-smart-prize). His work fuses Igbo culture, European classicism, American Mountain West setting, Hip-Hop and afrofuturism.
