Experiment| Measurement of Blood Pressure (Sphygmomanometer)
### About the Experiment
This experiment focuses on the principles and techniques of blood pressure (BP) measurement, providing a digital environment for students to understand both manual and automated monitoring methods. Users are introduced to the physics of blood flow and the instrumentation used to detect it, such as the sphygmomanometer and the stethoscope for identifying Korotkoff sounds, as well as the oscillometric methods used in modern digital monitors. By simulating the inflation and deflation of a pressure cuff and analyzing the resulting arterial signals, the lab teaches students how to determine systolic and diastolic values while exploring how factors like cuff size, placement, and patient posture can affect reading accuracy. This virtual platform serves as a critical training tool for biomedical students to master non-invasive hemodynamic monitoring without requiring a clinical setting or live subjects.
