We are a platform for sharing electronics/hardware kits using a standard format and suppliers that make buying and assembling a cool robotics kit a breeze.
# Elevator pitch
#### Have you ever tried creating a electronics project from a instructions you found online but found the process too daunting because every bolt and nut comes from random places or is unavailable? or worse yet they included the 3d printer file but its in a really weird .XYZ file format, that takes 5 hours to convert to .stl?#### ....
### Easy-hardware-kits.com is the solution!
`We are a platform for sharing hardware kits using a standard format and suppliers that make buying and assembling a cool robotics kit a breeze.`### We make the process really easy!
- kit creators can only use select suppliers for parts, thus making the ordering process one click!
- only standard formats are accepted .stl for the win. no more .XYZ file formats
- if you order a kit and upload `great documentation` you get the product 80% off!
- Similar to [Massdrop](https://drop.com/) if you order now all the kits get shipped out at the end of the month this save you money becase we can get builk rates!
- If you are a pay extra you can get your kit 2 week earlier!# UI Mockup Pages

### create a unified format for creating hardware project. and with a Standardize way to share BOM's and
### 3d print files, and software, and lots and lots of adafruit level docs for everything![](./assets/Artboard2_3.png)
### MVP (wip)
#### Based on some feedback from some industry professionals
#### they recommended I limit my parts suppliers to just physical hardware, lasercut parts, and electronics
#### thats already complicated enough
#### - that includes a making a BOM (bill of materials), api creation, part ordering## Todo list
- find laser cutter company
- create BOM standard with versioning
- create api connect to digikey and mcmaster car
- layout tolerances
- build a demo project (dogfooding) [Eating your own dog food - Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eating_your_own_dog_food)
- verify this doesnt already exist
- find a project that would work great for this project
- tutorials on how to design for each manufacture
- pokoko
- digikey
-
- make a discord community
- sell my services to help with part selection
- $100 hour to help you select parts
- BOM populating automation:
- part search through mcmaster car, digikey and others
- Use template: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1eyFTCux4ynKJKEOx1L6YeluM_kpClj7NQAWL7wFoOoM/edit?usp=sharing
# Notes/thoughts/issues
- this project: EASY for the consumer, HARD on the kit maker- there are two types of kit makers
- making the kit from scratch using this service
- Difficulty: i don't know what parts will look like or will they work
- adapting the kit to this service
- im unsure if the part x is the same as part y
- itemize shipping cost find sweet spot for projects
- issue: of international shipping (solution: we only support currently US makers atm)
- issue: this process is really actually hard for the kit creator! part selection is a bitch!
- incentivize creators: we will pay shipping costs for your first order to verify that you got the correct parts, future sales will recoup the lost shipping cost for the kit creator [issue: my company will have to eat that cost, no good!]
- issue: part ordering my hand is really irritating
- chrome plugin to do it automatically would help
- issue: what happens when 1 part go out of stock!
- adding redundancy will make more work on the kit creator
- also adding to the complication: how to select parts that don't go out of stock!
- identifying parts that are EASY to find equivalent parts
- identifying parts that are HARD to find equivalent parts
- question: how often do parts go out of stock?
- would becoming a fulfillment company solve some of these issues?
