MyCostLiving app is a simple yet powerful tool designed to provide users with accurate information on the cost of living in specific areas. Users can create search profiles based on either Metropolitan area or State to find the desired information. The app utilizes APIs such as HUDUSER, EIA, and Zip Code Stack, with the latter used solely to obtain state codes from zip codes, to ensure comprehensive and accurate data. Users can create profiles and add utility values to generate graphs displaying the total cost of living and the percentage contribution of each utility. Super Users have the capability to create multiple profiles and generate comparative graphs to analyze cost differences between profiles. MyCostLiving aims to offer users precise and detailed financial data to make informed living decisions.
