### Process



#### Clean (Wash)

1 - Foam no touch wash

- Remove bulk grime to not rub into surface in mitt wash

2 - Mitt Wash

- Two bucks (wash, clean) - dip wash, dip clean squeeze out not back into clean)

- Wheel before body, seperate mitt



#### Decontamination

1 - Iron remover spray

- Oxidants which break down clear coat over time 

2 - Clay Bar (mitt/pad)

- Remove defects and grime, use with lubricant, straight motions, wash after 



#### Correction

1 - Compound Cut

- Removes swirls and defects, cut layer away

- Using Polish machine on medium speed in straight strokes, cross-hatch pattern, 5 or so passes 

2 - Polish

- Fine finish and shine

- Using polish machine on medium speed on straight strokes, cross-hatch pattern, 5 or so passes

3 - Paint Prep (IPA Wipe)

- Remove all residue and all other crap from polishing ready for sealant



#### Protection

Option 1 - Waxes (Last 2-3 Months)

- Easy to apply and finish, deep slick gloss warm look

Option 2 - Sealant (Last 5-6 Months)

- Modern super hydrophoic spray sealants, can also be used over wax

Option 3 - Ceramic (Lasts 2+ Years)

- Can't apply over wax, can apply sealant overtop to improve hydrophobic properties and reduce water spotting

- Maintenance ceramic sprays and maintain quality

Option 4 - Graphine (Lasts 2+ Years)

- Reduced water spot over cermamic

- Booster spray to maintain properties, sprays a diluted form of small glass bottles

- Small bottles have flashing and curing times

- 30ml is about 2 coats for 2 cars



## Tips and Notes



### Car Controls

- Reset Screen Computer: Both steering wheel buttons until screen goes blank

- Hare Reset Computer: Hold Break down + both steering wheel buttons until screen goes blank



### Charging

- LFP Battery in RWD should be charged to 100% daily to maintain battery health

- Cables: Rearly will you need to bring cable for public chargers, and Caravan parks often have 3phase plugs

- Home: 10amp ok for nightly, 15amp slightly more to ensure full charge. Or 32amp via mobile charger or Tesla Wall Charger



### Insurance

- Choice of Repairer: Preferrable, though will generally have to end up at an Tesla Approved repairer to get access to parts and repair tools

- Windscreen & Glass: Preferrable, no 3rd party suppliers of glass currently, and Tesla Charge $1000+ for replacement

- Hire Car: Preferrable, Tesla repair can be significantly delayed due to parts availability, hire care may be need during wait if not safe to drive



### Tyres

- Stock: Michelin Pilot Sport 4 (TO)- Great tyre, though expensive at $350+ each, Acoustic version with foam insert

- Size: 235/45ZR18 98Y

- Options:

  - Michelin Pilot Sport 4S - Sport version of standard PS4, slight softer compound, better grip and handling

  - Michelin Pilot Sport 4 To

  - Michelin Pilot Sport 5 - Next iteration of PS4

  - Michelin Pilot Sport EV - Electric Vehicle specific, high load rating and rolling resistant

  - Pirelli P ZERO PZ4 Elec - Accoustic Pirelli with foam insert

  - Bridgestone Potenza RE0003 - Value type, slight higher road noise



### Consumables

- Cabin Air Filter: Replace yearly, two cabin filters required per change

- Wiper Blades: Replace as needed



### Tinting

- Darkness: State restrictions apply, generally 35% front-side windows, 20% rear-side and rear and upper front

- Type: Nano Ceramic generally seen as best for heat reflection and UV filtering

- Rear Windows: Old USA vesion cars had issues if tint, no longer the case for Giga Shangahi versions, should be tinted in 1 piece for best appearance

### Windscreen Washer Fluid

- Tesla recommend not using any product promoted a bug cleaner as it may streak and cause noise

- Water: use demineralised water to ensure windscreen and wiper blades are kept in best condition

- Addative: Use a addative which is free of harsh chemical and is lubricating to the wiper blades

### Common Issues

- Tesla quiality of build has greatly improved expecially in Giga Shanghai build cars, there are now no common issues

- Recalls are occasionaly put in place and will be performed is not urgent at next check-up or can be booked in



### Service

- Yearly Checks

  - Cabin Air Filter (Change every 2 years)

  - Tyre Rotation (Every 10k kms, cross over back-to-front wheel when swapping)

  - Break Pads (Replace if needed)

  - Washer Fluid (Top up)

  - Tyre Wear (Replace if needed - should get 50k kms with standard wear)

- Other

  - Wheel Alignment: with New tyre fitting or if issues being noticed

  - Wash Body: Regularly

  - Clean Interior: Reguarly

### Ordering A New Tesla

- Process: 

  - Place Order and Pay deposit (this just puts you in the queue - cars aren't made to order, they make in batches for expected demand for each models)

  - Complete initial financing details and potential registration details

  - Once a Vehicle is assigned/place on a ship that matches your configuration and your number in queue comes up you'll be assigned the VIN and a more defined estiamted delivery date - VIN after often assigned before you are notified and can be discovery using a browser plugin via the Tesla Portal using [Tesla VIN Finder](https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/tesla-vin-finder/cjhgdbmohmlomkjgbgkcbknncblpfanf)

  - Once Car has landed in country you'll be contacted to arrange delivery or pickup date and time

  - A week before pickup or delivery final payment is required or finance finalaised

  - Pick-up and enjoy!

- Tracking Order is possible once you have a VIN assigned. There are ways to discover which ship the VIN is on and subsequent tracking to delivery location. You can utilise [VedaPrime](https://vedaprime.net.au/) serivice to discover how



### Delivery Checklist



- More commonly used before quality improvements were made, especially in Giga Shanghai models

- Tesla will say accept delivery of car and you'll have 7 days to log any issues via a service appointment, though it may be possible for them to argue external defects were caused in that 7 day period, so always best to do a quick once over before accepting, or log on the day before leaving at least
